Test C: Ignition Switch Inoperative

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ignition switch harness connector C250. Measure voltage between ground and ignition switch harness connector C250 terminals B1 and B3 (both Yellow wires), and B4 and B5 (both Light Green/Violet wires). See Fig 1. If battery voltage exists at all terminals, replace ignition switch and retest system. See IGNITION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage does not exist at any terminal, repair open in appropriate wire. See POWER DISTRIBUTION in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
