Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the watershield.
  3. Connect the window control switch electrical connector.
  4. Connect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  5. Using the window control switch, position the rear door window glass to access the 2-part retainer.

  6. Using a suitable tool, remove the center portion of the retainer pin and then the outer portion of the retainer pin.
  7. Remove the rear door window glass.
  8. NOTE: Prior to attaching the rear window glass to the regulator, reinstall the outer and center portions of the retainer pin into the rear door window glass. The retainer pin should protrude an equal distance on both sides of the window glass.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install the retainer pin into the rear door window glass.
    • Operate the rear door window regulator to the full up position until an audible click is heard when the retaining pin is engaged with the regulator.
    • Operate the rear door window glass and regulator to check for correct operation.
