WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- H1 CHECK THE REM DTCS
- Retrieve the recorded results from the REM self-test.
- Are any REM DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to the REAR ELECTRONIC MODULE (REM) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX .
- No : GO to H2.
- H2 CHECK FOR A STICKING HEATED REAR WINDOW RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Heated Rear Window Relay C443.
- Key in ON position.
- Is the heated rear window off?
- H3 CHECK THE HEATED REAR WINDOW RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Check the heated rear window relay. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for component testing.
- Does the heated rear window relay pass the component test?
- Yes : GO to H4.
- No : INSTALL a new heated rear window relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
- H4 CHECK CIRCUIT 91S-HB23 (BN/WH) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: REM C420b.
- Measure the resistance between the REM C420b-7, circuit 91S-HB23 (BN/WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new REM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
- H5 CHECK CIRCUITS 15S-DC1 (GN/YE), 29S-HB1 (OG/YE) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: BJB Fuse 9 (5A).
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the BJB fuse 9 (5A) input cavity, circuit 15S-DC1 (GN/YE) and ground; and between the BJB fuse 9 (5A) output cavity, circuit 29S-HB1 (OG/YE) and ground.
- Does circuit 15S-DC1 (GN/YE) have greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR circuit 29S-HB1 (OG/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
