Removal and Installation

NOTE: If the supplemental restraint system (side air curtains) has deployed, check the B-pillar trim panel for damage.
  1. Pull back the weatherstrips surrounding the B-pillar trim panels.
  2. Remove the front seat safety belt anchor cover.
  3. Remove the front seat safety belt nut.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  4. Remove the front and rear scuff plates.
  5. Remove the upper and lower B-pillar trim panels.
  6. NOTE: Position the shoulder safety belt height adjuster at its highest setting before installing the upper B-pillar trim panel.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Check the restraint system for correct operation.
