PINPOINT TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE AUDIO UNIT - CDX6 AND DM100i ONLY
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- A1 CHECK CIRCUITS 29-MD15 (OG/BK) AND 75-MD15 (YE/GN) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Audio Unit C290b
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the audio unit C290b-1, circuit 29-MD15 (OG/BK), harness side and ground; and between the audio unit C290b-2, circuit 75-MD15 (YE/GN), harness side and ground.
- Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
- A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 29-MD15 (OG/BK) OR 75-MD15 (YE/GN) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: CJB C270a.
- Measure the resistance between the audio unit C290b-1, circuit 29-MD15 (OG/BK), harness side and the CJB C270a-4, circuit 29-MD15 (OG/BK), harness side; or between the audio unit C270b-2, circuit 75-MD15 (YE/GN), harness side and the CJB C270a-18, circuit 75-MD15 (YE/GN), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new CJB. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- A3 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-MD15 (BK/GN) OR 31-MD15A (BK/GN) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the audio unit C290b-13, circuit 31-MD15A (BK/GN) (CDX6) or circuit 31-MD15 (BK/GN) (DM100i), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue network diagnosis.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the data link diagnostic test.
