Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the center instrument panel finish panel.
    1. Rotate the center instrument panel finish panel vents inward.
    2. Through the vent openings, grasp the center instrument panel finish panel and pull outward.
    3. Remove the center instrument panel finish panel.
      • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  3. NOTE: On automatic transmissions, move the shift lever to the 1 position to make removal easier.
  4. Remove the upper steering column cover.
    • If equipped, disconnect the bi-fuel tank selector switch.

  5. Remove the headlamp switch.
  6. Remove the instrument panel finish panel.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the instrument panel finish panel.
      • If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.

  7. Remove the instrument cluster panel.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the instrument cluster panel.

  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
