Normal Operation

The restraint control module (RCM) is hardwired to the instrument cluster through circuit 31S-JA14 (BK/GN). When the RCM detects a system concern, a DTC is set and the RCM removes the ground to the instrument cluster to turn on the AIR BAG warning indicator. RCM DTC B1869 is set if circuit 31S-JA14 (BK/GN) is open or shorted to ground. RCM DTC B1870 is set if circuit 31S-JA14 (BK/GN) is shorted to power.
