Test C: High Beams Inoperative

- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn headlights on. Place multifunction switch in high beam position. If high beam indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If high beam indicator illuminates, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between central junction box and headlights. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right headlight harness connector C1041. Disconnect central junction box White harness connector C270a. Central junction box is located under left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance in Light Green/Black wire between central junction box harness connector C270a terminal No. 5 and right headlight harness connector C1041 Light Green/Black wire terminal. See Fig 1. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, connect right headlight harness connector C1041 and go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between central junction box and right headlight. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn headlights on. Place multifunction switch in high beam position. Measure voltage between ground and central junction box harness connector C270a terminal No. 30 (Gray/Orange wire). See Fig 1. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, replace central junction box.
- Disconnect multifunction switch 7-pin harness connector C202b. Test multifunction switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If multifunction switch is defective, replace multifunction switch. If multifunction switch is okay, repair open in Gray/Orange wire between multifunction switch and central junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
