Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Disconnect the auxiliary coolant pump-to-thermostat housing hose and position aside.
- Remove the 2 lower radiator hose support bracket bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Disconnect the lower radiator-to-thermostat housing hose and position aside.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the thermostat housing.
- Discard the thermostat housing O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new thermostat housing O-ring seal and lubricate with clean engine coolant.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
