Pinpoint Test C: THE ENGINE DOES NOT REACH NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE

- C1 CHECK THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE
- Key in START position.
Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes.
- Key in OFF position.
Feel the upper and lower radiator hoses.
- Are the upper and lower radiator hoses cold?
- Yes : INSTALL a new thermostat. Refer to THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING - EXPLODED VIEW, 3.0L (4V) and THERMOSTAT - 3.0L (4V) or THERMOSTAT - 3.9L . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for diagnosis and testing of the engine coolant temperature gauge.
- Key in START position.
