Valve Cover - RH: Removal

CAUTION: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the RH ignition coil-on-plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION - 3.0L (4V) .
  3. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube from the valve cover.
  4. Disconnect the variable cam timing (VCT) solenoid electrical connector.
  5. Detach the wiring retainer from the valve cover stud bolt.
  6. Remove the 2 intake manifold support bracket nuts and position the support bracket aside.
  7. Remove the 4 nuts and position the wiring harness conduit aside.
  8. Remove the 12 stud bolts and the valve cover.
