Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the LH lower splash shield.
- Disconnect the RH heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Disconnect the RH catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.
- Loosen the 2 Torca® clamp nuts.
- Remove the 2 RH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts and remove the RH catalytic converter.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Remove the 6 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
- Discard the nuts.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Remove the 6 exhaust manifold studs and discard.
NOTE:
Loosening the 2 Torca® clamp nuts will ease the removal of the RH catalytic converter.
