Pinpoint Test C: NO POWER IN START/RUN

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
  1. C1 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Carry out the Ignition Switch Component Test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for component testing.
    • Is the ignition switch OK? 
    • Yes  : GO to  C2.
    • No  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 30-BB20 (RD) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250.
    • Measure the voltage between ignition switch C250-7, circuit 30-BB20 (RD), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to  C3.
    • No  : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. C3 CHECK CIRCUIT 15-DD4 (GN/BK) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Measure the voltage between the CJB C270a-3, circuit 15-DD4 (GN/BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to  C4.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. C4 CHECK CJB FUSE 17 (5A) 
    • CHECK the CJB fuse 17 (5A).
    • Is the fuse OK? 
    • Yes  : CHECK the instrument cluster for faults. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
    • No  : INSTALL a new fuse. TEST the system for normal operation.
