Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
Do not remove the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition switch at the same time or damage to the column can result.
- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Remove the 2 screws and the steering column opening cover.
- Remove the 2 screws and the steering column lower shroud.
- Remove the screw and the steering column upper shroud.
- Release the 2 retaining clips and rotate the upper steering column trim panel out of the instrument panel.
- Remove the upper steering column shroud.
- Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
- Remove the ignition switch.
- Release the 2 locking tabs.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
