Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Detach the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Loosen the bolts and slide the A/C compressor down approximately 25 mm (1 in).
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
