Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the upper radiator appearance cover.

  2. Vehicles with 4.6L engine 

  3. Detach the A/C tube from the retainers and position the tube aside.

  4. All vehicles 

  5. If equipped, remove and discard the fan shroud screws.
  6. Remove the bolts and the upper fan shroud.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  7. CAUTION: Cardboard must be placed against the radiator when removing the cooling fan. Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the vehicle.
  8. Place a piece of cardboard against the radiator to prevent damage while removing the cooling fan.
  9. Using the special tools, remove the cooling fan.
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
