Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the upper radiator appearance cover.

  3. Vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine 

  4. Detach the A/C tube from the retainers and position the tube aside.

  5. All vehicles 

  6. If equipped, remove and discard the fan shroud screws.
  7. Remove the bolts and the upper fan shroud.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  8. Disconnect the lower radiator air dam from the radiator.

  9. Remove the nut and position the degas bottle lower hose aside.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

  10. Vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine 

  11. Detach the power steering hose from the clip.

  12. All vehicles 

  13. Detach the lower degas bottle hose from the lower fan shroud.
  14. Remove the bolts and the lower fan shroud.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
