Camshaft Roller Follower: Installation

Install the special tool.

NOTE: The 3 rearmost followers on the RH side must use special tool 303-581 in the same manner as is shown in Fig 2.

NOTE: The roller followers are positional. Make sure the roller followers are installed in their original locations.

NOTE: Make sure the cam lobe is directly away from the roller follower.

NOTE: Lubricate the roller followers with clean engine oil.

Using the special tool, compress the valve springs and install the camshaft roller followers.
Install the spark plugs.
- Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).

NOTE: Apply dielectric compound to the inside of the coil boots.

Install the LH and RH ignition coils and the bolts and connect the electrical connectors.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

Install the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
Install the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - LH and VALVE COVER - RH .
