Hub Bearings: Removal

- Remove the brake caliper clip. Remove the brake caliper bolt caps and the bolts. Position the caliper aside and suitably support. Remove the outboard brake pad. Remove the brake caliper anchor plate bolts and remove brake caliper anchor plate.
- Remove the front brake rotor. Remove the wheel hub nut. Remove the tie rod end cotter pin. Remove the tie rod end nut. Using the Tie Rod End Separator (211-105, T85M-3395-A), separate the tie rod end from the knuckle. See Fig 1 .
- On vehicles with ABS, remove the anti-lock brake sensor bolt. Position the anti-lock brake sensor aside. On all vehicles, remove the lower ball joint pinch bolt and nut. Separate the lower ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
- Using the Front Hub Remover (205-D070, D93P-1175-B), separate the axle shaft from the wheel knuckle. See Figure . Position the axle shaft aside and suitably support. Remove the strut-to-wheel knuckle bolts and nuts. Remove the wheel knuckle.
- Using the Pinion Bearing Cone Remover (205-D002, D79L-4621-A), press the wheel hub from the wheel bearing and knuckle. See Fig 2 .
- If the inner wheel bearing race does not remain in the wheel knuckle, after removing the wheel hub, press the inner wheel bearing race from the wheel hub. See Fig 3 .
- Remove the snap ring. Press the outer wheel bearing race from the wheel knuckle. See Fig 4 . If necessary, remove the front brake rotor dust shield.
