Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the radiator grille. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BUMPERS .
  3. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
  4. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to FENDER - FIVE HUNDRED, MONTEGO .
  5. NOTE: If shims are present during removal, be sure to reinstall shims and check fender alignment.
  6. Remove the 2 lower fender mounting bolts located at the lower rear of the fender.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  7. Remove the 2 fender bracket-to-fender bolts.
    • Enter through the wheelhouse opening and reach around the fender bracket to gain access to the fender bracket-to-fender bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  8. Remove the fender mounting bolt located at the rear of the wheelhouse opening.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  9. Remove the fender upper mounting bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  10. Remove the fender.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
