Side Air Bag Module: Installation

  1. Position side air bag module into deployment chute with alignment pin offset to top and electrical connector to bottom of seat back. Ensure side air bag module mounting studs have come through deployment chute stud openings. Position side air bag module on seat back frame and install mounting nuts. Tighten side air bag module mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT activate air bag system at this time. Ensure deployment chute does not have any wrinkle or folds where it contacts seat back frame mounting bracket.
  3. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining air bag system deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
