Seat Belt PRETENSIONERS: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Using Seat Belt Bolt Bit (501-010), remove lower seat belt anchor bolt.
  2. Remove B-pillar trim insert and guide seat belt through trim panel. Pull out and release seat belt web guide pin-type retainers. Using seat belt bolt bit, remove seat belt retractor mounting bolt. Pivot seat belt retractor upward to disengage locating tab, and remove retractor/pretensioner assembly.
