Removal (Explorer & Mountaineer)

CAUTION: The fuel pump assembly must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm and filter.

Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .

  1. Remove fuel tank.
  2. Clean the area around the fuel pump assembly mounting flange before loosening bolts.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pressure transducer.
  4. Remove the fuel pump assembly mounting flange bolts and remove the fuel pump assembly.
