Test P: Air Bag Warning Light Circuit Failure (DTC B1868): Description

AIR BAG warning light should light for 4-8 seconds when ignition is turned to RUN position. Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module monitors AIR BAG warning light for open and shorted conditions. If ECS module detects open or short on AIR BAG warning light circuit, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1868 in memory. If ECS module detects AIR BAG warning light fault in addition to another air bag system fault, ECS will send a signal to buzzer or chime module and will produce 5 sets of 5 tones.
