Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the license plate lamp electrical connectors.
  2. If equipped, disconnect the trailer harness electrical connectors.
  3. If equipped, detach the trailer harness pin-type retainer from the rear bumper.

  4. If equipped, disconnect the rear parking aid electrical connector.
  5. NOTE: Anytime the rear bumper arm-to-rear bumper bolts are removed, discard and install new rear bumper arm-to-rear bumper bolts.
  6. If equipped, remove the rear bumper arm-to-rear bumper bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).
  7. NOTE: Anytime the rear bumper nuts are removed, discard and install new rear bumper nuts.
  8. Remove the rear bumper nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 133 Nm (98 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the rear bumper.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Transfer components as necessary. If equipped with a rear parking aid sensor, REFER to PARKING AID for additional information.
