Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
  2. CAUTION: It is important to twist the spark plug wire boots while pulling upward to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wires.
    CAUTION: The spark plug wires must be connected in the correct firing order.
  3. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil by twisting while pulling upward.
  4. Remove the bolts and the ignition coil.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  5. Inspect the ignition coil for carbon tracks or damage.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply silicone brake caliper grease and dielectric compound to the inside of the spark plug wire boots.
