Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater element tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  3. Disconnect the PCV heater element electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolts and the PCV heater element. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new O-ring seal on the PCV heater element. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
