Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The fog lamps receive power from the fog lamp relay (when energized) through circuit 478 (TN/OG). The fog lamp switch (integral to the headlamp switch) is supplied power through circuit 14 (BN) when the parking lamps are turned on. When the fog lamp switch is engaged, power is routed to circuit 188 (WH/BK) which flows to the fog lamp relay coil. The fog lamp relay coil is grounded through the high beam power supply circuit (circuit 12). When the fog lamp relay is energized, the relay routes power from the CJB to circuit 478 (TN/OG) which supplies power to the fog lamps. When the high beam relay is energized, voltage on circuit 12 (LG/BK) interrupts the fog lamp relay so that the fog lamps will not illuminate.
