Removal (3.0L DOHC - VIN S)

  1. Ensure ignition switch is turned to OFF position. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove upper intake manifold. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD . Disconnect fuel charging electrical connector from engine control electrical connector located on rear side of wiring shield behind lower intake manifold.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector and vacuum hose from fuel pressure sensor. Disconnect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) tube and position aside. Disconnect fuel supply line. See FUEL LINE CONNECTOR . Remove lower intake manifold. See LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD (3.0L DOHC) .
  3. Place lower intake manifold upside down and remove 4 retaining bolts and fuel injection supply manifold. Disconnect 6 fuel injector electrical connectors. Carefully disengage injectors from fuel injection supply manifold by rocking fuel injector and pulling upward. Place injectors in a clean container. Remove and discard fuel injector "O" rings.
