Test X: No Communication With Alternative Fuel Control Module (Bi-Fuel Vehicles Only)

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Alternative Fuel Control Module (AFCM) harness connector C4001. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 16 (Red/Yellow wire) at AFCM harness connector C4001. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 11 (Red wire) at AFCM harness connector C4001. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair circuit and retest. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black/White wire) at AFCM harness connector C4001. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair module communications concern. See appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/White wire. See GROUND DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
