Test T: Charge Warning Never On
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect generator harness connector C1885A. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a fused jumper wire, ground terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire) at generator harness connector C1885A. If charge warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If charge warning indicator illuminates, repair charging system concern. See GENERATORS & REGULATORS - CONTOUR & MYSTIQUE article in CHARGING & STARTING SYSTEMS.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C808A. Measure resistance in Green/Black wire between terminal No. 1 at generator harness connector C1885A and terminal No. 7 at instrument cluster harness connector C808A. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, inspect charge warning indicator bulb and replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Green/Black wire.
