Test F: Moon Roof Rattles

  1. Cycle moon roof from fully open position to fully closed position. Fully closed moon roof recommended tolerance is 0.04" (1.0 mm) at front and rear edges of glass panel. If moon roof is not within specification, See MOON ROOF HEIGHT/ALIGNMENT  in ADJUSTMENTS. If moon roof is within specification, go to next step.
  2. Open moon roof for access. Inspect seal for cracks and correct fitting. If seal is in good condition and fitted correctly, go to next step. If seal is cracked and/or fitted incorrectly, replace seal or install existing seal correctly.
  3. With moon roof open, check roof side channels and guides for loose objects. If any loose objects are found, examine moon roof mechanisms for missing components. Repair or replace as necessary. If no loose objects are found, go to next step.
  4. With moon roof open, check for correct installation of front track rails and moon roof panel guides. If front track rails and/or moon roof panel guides are incorrectly installed, replace moon roof cassette. If front track rails and moon roof panel guides are correctly installed, inspect roof headliner security.
