Trouble Shooting

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and component is essential to prevent damage.

NOTE: Testing of speedometer or tachometer accuracy can be done by comparing scan tool values to speedometer or tachometer. If scan tool readout is different, replace appropriate meter.

Verify customer concern by operating system in question. Visually inspect the following components:

Mechanical

Low Brake Fluid Level
Damaged Engine Oil Filter
Damaged Fuel Tank
Damaged Vehicle Speed Sensor Gear
Low Engine Oil Level
Low Washer Fluid Level
Low Coolant Level
Worn Or Damaged Accessory Drive Belt

Electrical

Blown Fuse(s):
1. Relay Feed
2. Turn
3. Hazard
4. High/Low LH Headlights
5. High/Low RH Headlights
Damaged Miniature Bulbs
Damaged Wiring Harness
Loose Or Corroded Connections
Damaged Vehicle Speed Sensor
Damaged Instrument Cluster
Damaged Switches & Sensors
Damaged Ignition Relay

Verify charging system, safety belt warning chime, turn signals, headlights and cruise control are working properly. Inspect wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections or damage.
