Speed Control Indicator Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition to RUN position. If speed control indicator is always on, go to next step. If speed control indicator is never on, see ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article.
  2. Turn ignition to OFF position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C251. See Figure - Figure . Disconnect speed control module connector C102. Speed control module connector C102 is located on left side of master cylinder. Measure resistance of Orange/Light Blue wire between speed control module connector C102 terminal No. 1 and instrument cluster connector C251 terminal No. 5. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster connector C251 terminal No. 5. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms in either measurement, replace speed control servo and retest system. If resistance is 10 k/ohms in either measurement, repair short to ground in Orange/Light Blue wire and retest system.
