Fuel Pressure Relief
WARNING:
Contact with alcohol fuel (gasoline containing methanol or ethanol) on skin, in eyes or internally MUST be avoided. Permanent injury or death can result. Use protective clothing and equipment when handling fuel. Fuel supply lines on fuel injected engines remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shutdown. System pressure MUST be relieved prior to fuel system service to prevent possible injury.
Unscrew and remove fuel pressure relief valve cap on fuel supply manifold. On gasoline vehicles, connect Fuel Pressure Gauge Tool (T80L-9974-B) and on flex fuel vehicles, connect Rotunda Fuel (Methanol/Ethanol) Pressure Test Kit (134-R0087) to fuel pressure relief valve. Open manual valve on Fuel Pressure Gauge Tool to relieve fuel system pressure.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
use MFI Fuel Pressure Gauge Tool (T80L-9974-B) on flex fuel vehicles, or damage to gauge will occur.
