Fuel Reset Light Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect inertia switch connector. Inertia switch is located below glove box. Turn ignition on. Connect jumper wire between ground and inertia switch connector terminal No. 1 (Gray/Orange wire). If fuel reset light illuminates, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section to check PCM grounds and DTCs. If fuel reset light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity across fuel reset light bulb. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb.
  3. Measure resistance of Gray/Orange wire between instrument cluster connector C215 terminal No. 10 and inertia switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Gray/Orange wire between instrument cluster connector and inertia switch connector and retest system.
