Check Gauges Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition on. If gauges are functioning properly, go to next step. If gauges are not functioning properly, go to appropriate gauge test.
  2. Check for continuity between check gauges indicator bulb terminals of printed circuit. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between check gauge indicator bulb and instrument cluster printed circuit connector C215 terminal No. 8. See Figure . Measure resistance between check gauge indicator bulb and instrument cluster gauge amplifier. If both resistance measurements less than 5 ohms, replace coolant temperature/fuel level gauge and instrument cluster gauge amplifier. If resistance in either resistance measurement is 5 ohms or more, replace printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
