Turn Indicator Inoperative
- Place multifunction switch in left turn position. If left turn indicator illuminates, go to step 5). If left turn indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- If left outside turn lights operate, go to next step. If left outside turn lights do not operate, locate and repair problem in exterior lighting system. See appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS wiring diagram in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
- Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Disconnect junction block 4-pin connector C362. See Figure -5. Junction block is located under left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance of Blue/Black wire between junction block 4-pin connector C362 and instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Blue/Black wire.
- Disconnect junction block 16-pin connector C369. See Figure . Measure resistance of Blue/Black wire between junction block connector C362 and C369 terminal No. 14. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check for continuity across left turn indicator bulb. If continuity exists, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair or replace junction block.
- Place multifunction switch in right turn position. If right turn indicator illuminates, system is okay. If right turn indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- If right outside turn lights operate, go to next step. If right outside turn lights do not operate, locate and repair problem in exterior lighting system. See appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS wiring diagram in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
- Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Disconnect junction block 4-pin connector C362. See Figure -5. Junction block is located under left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance of Blue/Yellow wire between junction block 4-pin connector C362 and instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Blue/Yellow wire.
- Disconnect junction block 16-pin connector C369. See Figure . Measure resistance of Blue/Yellow wire between junction block connector C362 and C369 terminal No. 16. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check for continuity across right turn indicator bulb. If continuity exists, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair or replace junction block.
