Tachometer Inaccurate

Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on and start vehicle. With engine running compare scan tool RPM tachometer. If RPM matches, system is okay. If RPM does not match, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
