Oil Pressure Warning Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition on. If instrument cluster warning indicators and gauges are not operating, go to WARNING LIGHTS & GAUGES INOPERATIVE test. If instrument cluster warning indicators and gauges are operating, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and oil pressure switch connector terminal (Black/Green wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace oil pressure switch. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C2. See Figure and Figure . Measure resistance of Black/Green wire between oil pressure switch connector terminal and instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 10. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check oil pressure indicator bulb and replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Green wire.
