High Beam Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition on. Turn headlights on. Turn multi-function switch to high beam lights on position. If high beam headlights are on, go to next step. If high beam headlights are not on, locate and repair problem in headlight system. See appropriate HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS wiring diagram in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. See Figure and Figure . Disconnect right headlight connector. Measure resistance of Orange/White wire between instrument cluster connector C1 terminal No. 5 and headlight right headlight connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check for continuity across high beam indicator bulb. If continuity exists, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/White wire between instrument cluster connector C1 and headlight switch connector.
