Integrated Circuit Display(S) Inoperative Or Erratic

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster C250. Remove fuse No. 12 from fuse panel. See Figure , Fig 1 and Fig 4 . Measure resistance between load side of fuse No. 12 and ground. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire), replace fuse and retest. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step.
Measure resistance of circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire) between load side of fuse No. 12 and instrument cluster connector C250, pin No. 10. See Figure , Fig 1 and Fig 4 . If resistance is less than one ohm, replace instrument cluster printed circuit and retest. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire) for open circuit and retest.
