Test G: Moon Roof Does Not Stop Flush In Any Position (Contour, Continental, Mark VIII, Mystique And Probe)
- Check Moon Roof Motor - Cycle moon roof from full open to full close position. If excessive noise or visible cam skipping are present, replace moon roof motor. If no faults are present, go to next step.
- Check Moon Roof Motor Synchronization - Cycle moon roof from full open to full close position, stopping in the OPEN position. If large notch on cam lines up with microswitch, go to next step. If large notch on cam does not line up with microswitch, perform motor synchronization. See ADJUSTMENTS .
- Check For Damaged Microswitch
- Cycle moon roof, stopping flush in opening. Remove roof relay. Measure resistance at relay connector as follows:
- On Contour and Mystique, between relay connector Brown wire terminal and White/Green wire terminal.
- On Mark VIII, between relay connector Red wire terminal and Blue wire terminal.
- On Continental, between relay connector Red wire terminal and Yellow wire terminal.
If continuity exists, replace moon roof motor. If continuity does not exist, replace moon roof relay.
