Test E: Horn, Headlights/Exterior Lights Always On

  1. Disarm system by turning driver's door lock cylinder to UNLOCK position. If horn, headlights or exterior lights are still activated, go to next step. If horn, headlights or exterior lights are deactivated, system is functioning properly.
  2. Disarm system using remote transmitter, keyless entry keypad and ignition switch. If horn is cycling or staying on constantly, go to next step. If horn is not cycling or staying on constantly, go to step 4).
  3. Disconnect Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module connector C254. See Figure . RAP module is located in center of instrument panel behind integrated control panel. If horn is cycling or staying on constantly, fault is in horn circuit. If horn is not cycling or staying on constantly, temporarily substitute a known good RAP module and retest system.
  4. Disarm system using remote transmitter, keyless entry keypad and ignition switch. If horn and headlights/exterior lights are cycling or staying on constantly, go to next step. If horn and headlights/exterior lights are not cycling or staying on constantly, system is operating properly.
  5. Disconnect Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module connector C254. See Figure . RAP module is located in center of instrument panel behind integrated control panel. If horn and headlights/exterior lights are cycling or staying on constantly, repair short to ground in White/Purple and/or Dark Blue wire(s) and retest system. If horn and headlights/exterior lights are not cycling or staying on constantly, system is operating properly.
