Removal & Installation (Mark VIII)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL . Remove left lower instrument panel cover. Disconnect courtesy light and position left instrument panel insulator aside. Separate upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect connectors at steering column junction box and steering column potentiometer. Release clips securing multifunction switch to column. Remove multifunction switch, air bag sliding contact and steering column junction box from steering column as an assembly. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. Separate multifunction switch from air bag sliding contact. To install, reverse removal procedure.
