Removal & Installation (Contour & Mystique 2.5L)

  1. Drain remote reservoir by disconnecting fluid return line at pump. Drain pump by removing pressure line at pump.
  2. Plug pressure line to prevent contamination. Remove hose from bracket. Remove front engine support insulator. Mark pulley location relative to hub. Loosen, but DO NOT  remove, 4 pump pulley bolts.
  3. Release belt tension by rotating automatic tensioner away from belt. Remove drive belt. Remove 6 nuts and 5 bolts from pump bracket. Remove pump. To install pump, reverse removal procedure. Refill and bleed hydraulic system.
