Test C - Coolant Temperature Gauge Inaccurate

  1. Perform COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENDING UNIT TEST  under COMPONENT TESTING. If sending unit is okay, go to next step. Replace sending unit if it fails test.
  2. Perform COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE TEST  under COMPONENT TESTING. If temperature gauge is okay, go to next step. Replace temperature gauge if it fails test.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug 14-pin connector from instrument cluster. Measure resistance between Black/Blue wire at harness connector pin No. 5 and sending unit harness connector. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between Black/Blue wire and ground. Resistance should be greater than 5 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. If resistance is not as specified, repair Black/Blue wire between instrument cluster and sending unit.
