Test B - Fuel Gauge Inaccurate
- Perform FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST under COMPONENT TESTING. If sending unit is okay, go to next step. Replace sending unit if it fails test.
- Perform FUEL GAUGE TEST under COMPONENT TESTING. If fuel gauge is okay, go to next step. Replace fuel gauge if it fails test.
- Unplug fuel tank sending unit harness connector. Measure resistance between Black/Red wire at sending unit harness connector and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Red wire.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug 14-pin connector from instrument cluster. Measure resistance between Yellow wire at harness connector pin No. 8 and Red wire at fuel pump harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow wire (wire color changes from Yellow to Red between instrument cluster and fuel gauge sending unit).
