Test A - Instrument Cluster Inoperative

  1. Check METER fuse (fuse No. 8) in interior fuse panel. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. If fuse repeatedly blows, check Black/Yellow wire between fuse panel and instrument panel harness connector pin No. 6.
  2. Turn ignition off. Unplug 14-pin instrument cluster harness connector. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Test for battery voltage at pin No. 6 (Black/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Black/Yellow wire to fuse panel.
  3. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between harness connector pin No. 9 (Black/Red wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Red wire to ground.
