Front Wheel Bearings: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Raise staked edge of hub retainer flange. Remove and discard axle nut.
- Remove brake hose clip at shock bracket. Remove anti-lock sensor (if equipped). Remove tie rod end nut. Separate tie rod end from knuckle.
- Remove caliper bolts. Separate caliper from rotor. Suspend caliper out of work area with wire. Remove rotor screws and rotor.
- Remove bolt and nut located at point where lower arm ball joint connects to front knuckle. Separate lower arm ball joint from lower arm. Remove spring and shock bracket bolts.
- Remove knuckle and wheel hub assembly from drive shaft. Separate hub from knuckle with Puller (T87C-1104-A) and Hub Remover (T92C-1104-AH). Retain outer bearing retainer washer for use during reassembly. Press outer bearing cone and roller from shaft. Remove and discard inner and outer oil seals.
- Pull bearing races from bores with Puller (T77F-1102-A) and slide hammer. If necessary, remove and discard rotor shield.
